Day Six

Today is what?  Lots of questions today for mom -- you know the mental questions where I go, "Okay I need a better more effective way."  Knew this day would come...oh well.  Frazer and I survive din the star chamber.

He went back to his tutor after a three week vacation for her and him (not so much).  He had a nice session.  It is a relief to me just to partner with her and not be responsible for everything he is learning.

We came home and got to work.  The concept of elapsed time is tricky.  HOw to add a half hour.  He still seemed clear as a bell on half past and the _:30 but knowing what time it would be thirty minutes later threw him.  Applying the logic of elapsed time.  However the great thing is that I anticipated this and bought some ruler that allows you to plod the starting time on the top and then move the bottom marker on a separate time line.  Concept not cemented in there but definitely more within his reach with that tool.

And time will keep on marching.

Just as his curiosity over the months the year and calendar date being related to the number of days that have past int he month.  We have decided to make a card deck with month names and the numbers and dates to play either go fish or crazy eights.  He is starting to get into the strategy of the games which is a nice added benefit from using them.

We read Nate the Great and the Phony Clue and I had to be the one to stop is so that we could do some more math.  Miquon again today.  Using the rods to see numbers that add up to ten and that 2 = 8= 8+ 2 only in block formation but he used the numbers interchangeably.

We returned to the map project and his drawing of our house.  He had another go round.  Sent him outside to check housing color.  He really needs to get it together -- the interior decorator in him is making changes to our facade that I am not willing to make!  Seriously he needs to pay attention to what is there and consciously elect to do something different.

I am ending tonight with a photo from yesterday of Frazer in his gear for his riding which starts next week.  He is quite excited and we love consignment!
